Pokemon Renegade Platinum Gameplay
Pokemon Renegade Platinum is a romhack of the original Pokemon Platinum version that's designed to increase the game's overall difficulty and offer a complete Pokémon experience. The hack retains the traditional gameplay of the main series Pokémon games where players have to catch, train, care for and control a variety of creatures called Pokémon, which are used to battle.
Beginning of the Game
As with the other Pokémon games, your journey begins in a small town, where you're given your first Pokémon and tasked with cataloging all the creatures in the game's world. Every one of the 493 Pokémon from the first four generations is obtainable in this game, offering a wide range of choices for your team.
Changes in the Gameplay
Features that were not in the original Platinum have been added in Renegade Platinum such as the ability to challenge Gym Leaders again, change the game's challenge mode and updated movesets and stats for different Pokémon, making battles exciting and requiring strategic planning. The in-game events and battles have also been tweaked to be more challenging.
Battling and Training
In terms of actual gameplay, Pokémon Renegade Platinum focuses on battling and training Pokémon. You and your Pokémon gain experience through battles and this enables your Pokémon to level up and evolve. If a Pokémon’s health points (HP) goes down to zero in a battle, it gets fainted and cannot participate in battles until it is revived. The battle ends when all Pokémons of a player gets fainted. The player will "black out" and the game will restart from the last Pokémon Center visited or the home of the player.
Gym Leaders and Elite Four
The player's goal is to traverse the Sinnoh region, battle, and beat the eight gym leaders in order to gain Gym Badges which enables the player to enter the Pokémon League. Pokémon League is a competition where you battle the Elite Four and the Sinnoh Region champion. Winning the Pokemon League signifies reaching the end of the main narrative.
Post-Game Content
Despite the main story ending with the Pokemon League, Renegade Platinum includes a wealth of post-game content. Exploring previously inaccessible areas, capturing legendary Pokemon, and challenging unique battle facilities are just a few of the activities you can look forward to.
